dodgy seller lude?

Ok... I found a lude on eBay it was green and in half decent condition with low mileage, I bid on it and was the highest bidder but didn’t win it. I contacted the seller and after lots of texts and pictures we agreed on a sale price and they promised to send me the green slip and mot so I could tax it as the tax had expired, I agreed to a deposit of £100 pounds and since then I’ve only heard from them once in over a week and a half.
And I think they only called me as I threatened them with the police, fraud prevention agency and getting them banned off of eBay he called me saying his wife has been ill and her mother had taken her phone and left it at hers so she hadn’t received my calls or texts.
I’m starting to think its a scam, they live in Devon and I live in Nottingham but we are going on holiday next Friday to Cornwall so I’d be driving past, my idea was to collect it on my way past.
After threatening to call the police he said he was sorry not to panic and that it was all legit.
Well that was Thursday and now its Sunday and I’ve not heard anything still. They supposedly posted the green slip and mot but that was over 2 weeks ago now and it’s not arrived, I think they are lying and that although its only £100 has my deposit be stolen from me? Views anyone as I’m still going to turn up as his wife sent me a picture of her driving licence and bank card so id trust them.
Anyone know Barnstaple its there apparently, anyway am I worrying about nothing? I’ll feel pretty bad if it’s all true and she is poorly in hospital. I don’t know just all seems a little unbelievable that you can’t reply or call someone just to keep contact during a transaction???? Opinions please

Have you asked for an alternative number or email?

Try that, if that doesn't work ask for your deposit back immediately or you'll definitely be contacting eBay & the police.

If you still haven't heard from him by the time you go on holiday, just go round the house on your way. Then gauge how to proceed from there..

You are right to be concerned though, this isn't normal.

What's his feedback score on eBay?

It was his wife who advertised it, and I don’t really want to start naming them if it is legitimate if it comes to when I try to collect that it’s not then ill name and shame but I’ll wait and see.

Ok i have 2 numbers of which they dont answer either, and ive already threatened ebay and police thats when he finally called me off of his phone to say she had been ill.

And i will be going round, im really pissed of as i need to tax and insure this and they are doing nothing to help me, i mean if they have posted the mot and green slip and its not arrived and she has been ill how do i tax it with no insurance? Im not risking insuring it and tring to tax it if this is all bogus.
