Think that just means it has met the standards necessary for alloy wheels

Yeah "JWL" is the Japanese standard for wheels, much like "Jasma" is the Japanese standard for exhausts.

This guy sums it up well...

Aye. A week now I've been waiting for someone (anyone!) to come back on the french car forum and tell me whether there's any differences in the various different manufacturers of the original fitment air-con systems on Xantia's (or whether they're interchangeable) and whether the system is basically the same on all models, or if they're bespoke dependant on the particular engine fitted... :sega:

I guess I'm impatient now/my expectations are high, because I'm so used to how quickly things get answered on here, but this is actualy abnormal, right?!

:D

Nice try, but given the number of times "Citroen Xantia" is mentioned in his text, I have a sneaky suspicion that his "Ford Focus" guide might read exactly the same?

From what I've found out from reading random stuff on the interweb, I think there are 2 different styles of connectors in use (somewhere on the system - I don't know where!) and then from looking at part drawings, there seem to be at least 2 different designs of condensor as well and I've seen at least 3 different manufacturers of compressors...

So atm I have no idea a) if any/all of the system bits are interchangeable, b) if there are any particular pro's/con's of one type over another (e.g. one might be more efficient? one might be more prone to leaks? one might be easy to get parts for one isn't? one might have expensive parts one might have cheap parts? etc.?)

I was thinking this is probably not a hard question for people that have had multiple Xantia's over the years!

Given that there's no way the drokking thing will be finished in the next 2 weekends now though, I might just say sod it, try and find one in a scrapyard near me, take myself off down there this weekend and get busy with the spanners... I'd just rather know before I start, whether what I'm taking off is actually going to be any use! And... :? what would I do if I'm presented with a choice of systems when I get there? :scaredtoss:

take your compressor with you and see if yours will fit the one in the yard
