Hi Guys

I've been abit quiet lately due to being very busy at work.

As you most of you may know my daily commuter was a 1999 Seat Arosa SDI which I bought in April 2010. I bought this car due to the fact that my company moved to Kent and due to getting married and buying our first property at the time I thought it would be best to stay put. I was doing a 140 miles round trip so the Seat Arosa was perfect to rack the miles up.

Since then I have now got a new job and work much closer to home. I've been in this new job for the last two years now so I thought it would be a good opportunity to upgrade the daily.

I have had my eye on 4 door Honda Accord saloon diesels. I love the shape and they have come down in price now. I do like the 8th generation accord but they still cost a bit to much.

I managed to bag one at a very good price last week and part exchanged the Seat Arosa. It was a fond farewell to the Seat Arosa as it served me well and saved me lots of pennies in diesel over the past 4 years.

The Honda Accord is such a nice car, more refined and smooth than any car I have owned. It needs some work tidying up but overall the engine is sweet and has full Honda history which shows. I have heard horror stories with the clutches and DMFs but the clutch currently has a low biting point and is really smooth. Also these NA22 diesel engine inlet manifolds have been known to crack - The service history shows that it was changed under warranty in 2012. I have also contacted Honda Bindley where it was done and they have sent me paper work to confirm this.

Hope you like guys. I wont be doing any modding on it and it will be staying standard as it will be the potential future family car :)

It will be just a matter of getting the car to a highly maintained standard

I will also still be keeping the Prelude for as long as I can 

Any one know of good Accord forums to get some good support on these cars. They do seem a lot more complicated 

Yes they do. There is a thread on Preludepower where one dude custom fitted that on his 5g. It's barely noticeable as the 'fins' are not as massive like others.

Nice motors these 8-) I was looking at buying a Tourer version 2ltr petrol. Good buy chap. Also if you get a ABS light on, it will req a replacement modulator. Getting common on these now ;) 8-)

Thanks guys. Definitely has to stay standard. The missus will kill me if I start modding this. lol

Ahh nice. Didn't know that was a rear diffuser. What do they do?

Yeah, I heard those ABS/VSA modulators do go. Fingers crossed it gives me a few years of service before it does. lol. I assume the car is still driveable though if it does it attention?

Something tells me I should have bought the K20 or K24 petrol Accord - Less things to go wrong LOL

Yea you can still drive it. Just have a light on and no ABS. Yea knowing what I know about the iCTDi motor, I would of brought a k20. ;)
