3D Tv's - Active shutter vs. Passive?

I'm going to be buying a 3D tv soon, I've been lots of research online about passive vs. active shutter glasses. But there's lots of conflicting info, some saying active is better, some saying passive is better.

Can anyone shed any light on which to go for?

I'll be going for a 46" and mainly using it for films, but will be doing some gaming too.

3d tv = Clubbing Eddy. My dad spent ages trying to find one. Got a Sony with the active glasses and its never in focus unless your perfectly still and correct distance. Hd anyday over 3d.

im still very happy with my CRT panasonic

i hate the look of HD and all the other types coming out. if i wanted to see the sweat coming out of some actors pours i would have become a director.

@rob: they layer multiphasic led sheets together. iv seen one 5 thick so far. the computer then plays the main sequence on the middle sheet and adds depth with the two either side. its pretty cool but it still does not beat my CRT :D

@toadster: yes mate, keep it till it goes pop.
