What can be optimal price of decent h22a in uk? And isn't right deal to buy a donor car with h22 on it better then just an h22 engine? Looks like that's even cheaper.

Maybe around £200-£300 :?

If you are looking to go down the donor car route why not spend a little extra and just get a decent car and save the hassle of fitting the H22 to your 2L chassis? Unless your 2L chassis is a minter with no rust etc...

Well i was invested alot in that decent car atm. And the chases is mint so my thoughts are just put the h22 in it. Well if the engine costs 200 - 300 fitting will be 200 so max there will be 500 quid to get it done. Much cheaper then decent car what now costs aprox 1500. Am i'm wrong?

It's not gonna be a straight swap in tho mate as a lot of the wiring will be different and you will need the gearbox as well

Be aware that finding an OBDII H22a is a lot more difficult than finding an OBDI H22a. If you use an OBDI engine you will have to factor in the cost of converting it to OBDII, injectors and dizzy.

Yeah you could just get an H22a and sling it in there but to do it properly (it would be silly not to do these jobs while the engine is out) will cost a fair bit of cash. If I were doing this I would get a new timing belt on and any associated bits (tensioner and balance shaft bits), water pump?, a new clutch, and you will need all new fluids as well. You'll need the right ECU to go with the engine (or get a tuned ECU) and need to wire in the VTEC solenoid etc.. Plus like W1ggz says probly best to go with an H22 gearbox, although the F series gearbox will fit.

Lings has different part numbers for 2.0 and 2.2 driveshafts so they may need to be replaced as well.

There is a whole host of other differences that you may wish to upgrade. Brake master cylinder and brake booster, front discs and calipers. 2L brakes may be a bit small for the H22.

Are you planning on doing the work yourself or paying a garage?

OBD1 engine can be used, just need an obd2a to obd1 conversion harness, p13 ecu and adding the wires that aren't there like vtec solenoid.

Driveshafts should be fine since the boxes are swappable.

Brakes just need changed to 282's, Ive not properly looked but presume the master cylinder/booster should be 1" as the brakes are abs.

As @merlin said the main cost is all the work that should be done before the swap like timing belts/seals etc

Which you'll probably still need to do even if you just bought a 2.2 lude instead of doing the engine swap on the current one?

More than likely as it seems to be the one thing on just about any lude I've bought that no-one could prove was done.

Yeah I planning to pay garage for thease jobs.
Anyway that will be large work on it.
Second opportunity can be - f20 engine block and h22 head on it? Is it possible?
Then turbo it.
