My brother has been playing it but I don't get what it is. Is it free roaming or just death matches?? All I've seen him playing is death matches online

There seem to be some quite decent big maps with lots of quests, where you can just get on with stuff on your own but also see other people and can cooperate if you wish, and then there's the Crucible arenas where you get the deathmatch (or CoD type Domination) sort of stuff. Maybe a bit of both, to answer your question.

It doesn't seem to be one massive play area, but to have lots of biggish areas on Earth (Russia at present, I guess there will be loads more?), the moon, at least one other planet and presumably more when fully released.

You tend to find if you're not in the Deathmatch you roam around doing quests, and/or team up with other folks around randomly to hunt baddies. Now and then an optional group challenge appears (eg. Ginormous monster that needs killing) and you can join in if you wish, and get credit if you collectively succeed.

Graphics are nice and the weapons seem to work very smoothly.
