Graphic card upgrade advice

Post by jjmartin349571 » Mon Aug 11, 2014 3:43 pm

Hi folks,

I'm hoping somebody more up to date on PC building than me can help - I've decided to get Elite: Dangerous for my PC, however I need a graphics card with at least 1gb of ram on board to meet the min system requirements. I currently have an Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 with 768mb of memory which tbh I haven't found it to struggle with the games I've been playing (Arma II & III basically), but it's old news now and needs to be replaced. However as I don't use my PC much for gaming I don't want to spend mega money, around £100 is what I'm aiming to spend as I'd rather chuck my cash at the cars than video gaming  I know I can get a suitable card for the money, I just want to know what the best card I can get for the money would be... I might be stupid but from looking online today I've not been able to get my head around what's best at that price point :?

At any rate, any help or advice would be greatly appreciated :D

Cheers,
Josh

Will have a proper look later but whatever you get you need to make sure your psu is strong enough for a higher level card, a good NVIDIA card say 2gb, you can pick one up for £60 on ebay new. You might want to look at ram while your at it, check your Motherboards capability, what it can handle etc. How many slots. That sort of thing.
