This weekend myself and my 2 work colleagues are running Tough Mudder South West
Now all 3 of us are not really in shape for this me and dan have both done a few evenings running and dan and Louis have been weight training.
It's a 11.5 mile cross country course with 21 hardcore obstacles thrown in for good measure. Including ice pools and electrocuting.
We are raising money for alzheimers research uk as my business partner dan Nan was a sufferer.
If anyone would like to sponsor us please go on the link below.

Good luck mate 8-)

You'll need it

Do you fancy coming with us for ''man v horse'' next year? its a 27mile punt over a wesh mountain. 500 riders v 60 riders.

We did it this year and the winning human was only 20 mins behind the winning horse.

That sounds awesome LLL! Linky? (Not inviting myself along BTW! )

I'm doing the London-Brighton off road (75 miles) next month and the Mud Pack Challenge a bit later - some 5 mile obstacle thingy, in aid of the Hospice where my Mum was.
The big one I'm doing for them though is riding Lands End - John O Groats, hopefully September next year :scaredtoss:

here you go;

insanity

It was a good day to be fair though I was just crew

The runners go 15 mins earlier so as not to have a massive pile up at the start and the riders charge off after them. the times are then equalised at the end. Tough run though old men and tiny wrinkly women were doing it which made shane and I feel pretty bad to be honest  :?

@mercutio im not like the pansies on that marines program.
although i havent done much training i would think i am in a goodish shape from the work i do, ive also been running the valet bay in clevedon by myself the past 2 months which is physically quite demanding.
end of the day this course isnt a race so we should be ok :D

you need training  even if you think your fit and even if its not a race try telling yourself that when everyone is running past you  even if you don't think your competitive you will start to try harder then your in the jobby  I know I am nowhere near as fit as I was 20 odd years ago when I could run the timed assault course in Guyana in just over 2 hours but even then I would be training for something like that.
I love the "How hard can it be" attitude but being carried off waving to the crowd isn't a great thing
