Redundancy

Anyone offer advice?

I found out tomorrow if its me :( I'm expecting it will be based on the scoring criteria we've been given, I'm the youngest most inexperienced member of the team.

To be honest, I'm not that worried about it, but I've never been through this process before so I would like to know what to expect from my employer.

Also, please keep this here and not on Facebook, as I haven't told family yet as don't want to worry them unnecessarily.

I'm in the same boat, I've been redundant for 3 weeks now :(

I did get a payout which helps, just make sure they don't try and drokk you out of money you're owed.

Same happened to me 3 years ago, I was the youngest and least experienced. Be careful they don't try and screw you out of paying up for unclaimed holidays, I got made redundant a week after my new allocation and got paid for 1/4 of them, grr!

You never know though, wouldn't expect it to be a cert just yet. It may be that the most experience is lazy and over paid now so it's a chance to get shot of some deadwood...

Good luck

do some research on the web is the best thing and get some official advice form websites etc, be sure you know your rites. Im also in the same boat and im in the Army

What i would say through personal experience as a civvy its not always last in first out, if your good at your job your are cheaper to employ if its a non commision based job.....to be fair if it is and you bring in good money why sell your prized pony if you get me (saled led comment)

;)

Cheers guys.

The company is a good one, I can't see them trying to screw me over.

A1ex: We are only small, 12 people total including directors, and I'm one of 4 on my team. The other guys have been there a long time and have a wealth of experience over me. I will be the cheapest for them to get rid of, but offer the least saving as the other guys earn more than me.

I know it's not a forgone conclusion, but based on the scoring criteria they've given us and my estimates of everyone's scores, I'm bottom.

Oh dear, sounds like the situation I was in. Anyhow, expect the worst & hope for the best then anything in between is a bonus ;)

EDIT: forgot to say, at least you know it might be coming. I got into the office one morning to find my desk and computer gone!
