Can anyone do cut stickers? Need a favour...

As per the title, i'm after a favour.

I was watching a guitar riff programme on TV t'other day with my lad and gayhair Brian May was banging on about the guitar his dad made him. Now my lad took the opportunity for a sarcastic mention that i've never made him a guitar, to which i replied i've never made him perm his hair either.

Now he's been going on about wanting a Fender Telecaster, so i'm tomorrow picking up a battered Squier Telecaster that i have sourced. Plan is to strip it, refurb it, paint it in the colour he wants and fit some fender hardware and give it to him at Christmas.

To add the personal touch, I want to re-label the headstock. Was thinking of this layout:

But maybe have "Shiny" (http://download.fontmeme.com/fonts/13102/fender.html - silver font with a black outline) instead of Fender (i have considered Bender, but neh, he might not take it out the house), a different serial no (his initials and chrimbo day), Dad-ecaster instead of telecaster and Made in Rodbourne.

Something a bit like this, but the "R" in a circle (registered trademark) after Shiny and Dad-ecaster.

Shiny xxxxxxxxxDAD-ECASTER
SERIAL JD25122014xxxxxMADE IN RODBOURNE
NUMBER

I can then stick it on the headstock and lacquer over it.

If any one can help with this, i'm obviously willing to pay.

And yes i am a big softie.

I have water slide transfer paper . This would be better than cut vinyl as it is thinner. If you send me the actual art work scaled to a4 paper size I could give it a go.

Top man Sam! Yeah if water slide transfer is better, then all is good. I have no idea about these things.

Can you colour the "Shiny" in silver with a black outline, or is it a case of filling in the gap with a silver marker pen?

My next big favour is if anyone fancies doing the artwork for me

I pick up the guitar tomorrow so can get some measurements.

Don't put Dad-ecaster! I don't care how rugged the sense of humour is in your house, that's just asking for it! (And he'll never take it out the house).

Very nice, thoughtful idea, otherwise :)

I'm glad you said that. I've been hanging on the Dadecaster as it is a bit crap. I thought about Jackecaster but it is just as crap! Lol. Although he really wouldn't be bothered, he's so laid back.

I think I'll just go with Telecaster, but keep the Shiny, S/N and made in Rodbourne.

Bah my missus has no vision. I've just got back from collecting it in Reading and all she could say was "oh dear, what a mess".

See beyond the stickers dear!

Stickers show it's been used. Instruments, like cars, have souls and need to be used!

I know nothing of kids, but text decision seems wise. Suggest complimentary present of black curly wig.

I'm quite drawn to this guitar, it has character and had been loved.

Started on a bit of a strip down earler, got high on the glue removers, need to buy a soldering iron tomorrow, but the neck is good and has cleaned up well

Do you fancy popping the neck over to mine we could do the artwork there and then.
