It's means a lot when someone compliments your Lude!

Monday evening after work. Tired, head down walking against the wind from Tesco back to my Lude when a guy shouts;

"Your cars in great nic!"

This prompted a half hours conversation with a couple I've never met before.

They own a green mk1. M reg 2.2 vtec 4th gen which is currently SORN and were deliberating whether or not to scrap it or restore it. Happy to say I think I convinced them to restore it. (Keep all Lude's on the road!) :)

Apparently their Lude has typical rear arch rust bubbles and paint discolouration on the bonnet and rear wing. Gave them contact details for the guy who restored mine.

So driving home after a long Monday in the rain, I felt pretty good that someone had complemented my Lude whilst also considering holding onto their own car.

Dosen't it make you feel good when people notice your Lude? :)

I get loads of compliments but it balances out eventually with my partners hate comments toward the lude. :(

What is it she hates about it?
The car itself?
The competition for your affections and attention?

I had one last week (No, not a Nitin) a young guy with a couple of lasses and "nice car, mate" as I stopped at a junction. As usual, a dumped clutch and rapid/sonorous movement ensued.... I can't help it. :oops: If I'm honest, I'll show off to anything upwards of a squirrel. :oops:
