There's been some great documentaries on about (or including) Lauda recently, not to mention the film Rush of course.

Each time I hear more about him, the more amazed I am tbh. I stumbled on this wikipedia entry today, about a crash that one of his airliners was involved in. Reading the bit about his involvement in the aftermath and in the investigation is awesome. I can't imagine many airline execs being as forthright and gauntlet challenging as that!

Amazing how he managed to get Boeing to 'man up' about the thruster issue, to take on the likes of such a large corporate body takes a lot of guts and determination.

I'm bloody sure he would have gone through with his offer to go up in that plane and deploy the thruster, too! :hail: he's not a man for empty words I don't think.

you don't survive what he survived without having guts and determination.
