I've been out and about this afternoon, and every petrol station I drove past had cars queing out of the entrances waiting to fill up!
There's lots news like this:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-17533151
Urging everyone to fill up ASAP, as there maybe shortages.
I don't see the strike being that bad, just seems like the government trying to stir up some panic buying
What's everyones take on it?

Makes me glad I filled up last week and haven't used my car since
If everyone carried on as normal it'd be fine I'm sure. It's when they say there might be a shortage that people panic and get petrol when they normally wouldn't which then causes the shortage to happen even sooner.

they were panic buying in manchester on monday there were even empty pumps at asda

i think people should start a boycott to bring prices down maybe we could all drive to london and run out of fuel around the houses of parliament imagine thousands of cars blocking the centre of london

Exactly, I'm not even sure when the strike is ment to happen? The petrol price went up today, the government 'advise' that everyone should fill up and also keep a spare jerry can full and everyone is panic buying like puppets

Yeah, it's not even confirmed that the strike will go ahead, jsut that there is a threat of it.
Plus the union must give 7 days notice of intended strike so we'll all have a weeks warning anyway!!

Going to get a bicycle next. Free tax, Congestion Free, No insurance and I can make the VTEC noise with my mouth as I drive past.

And I'll be even fitter.

Read somewhere that a guy filled up his Range Rover then bought up the last 6 jerry cans in the shop and filled them up too
Strike hasn't started , not even a date for talks yet and 7 days notice if it does , people are crazy
