What navigation apps for Android do people recommend? I'm after one which uses a saved off-line map so not using a constant data connection like Google Maps. Sygic? TomTom?

All the ones I use are on-line, which I prefer due to live traffic and speed cameras etc.
I know you've said that isn't what you want, but in case you do go that way... I'd highly recommend Waze. Or after that, M8

Sygic is pretty good, also has a HUD add-on to reflect directions off the windscreen.

Nav free has been really good for me. Doesnt need ur data allowance so still works with mobile data turned off.

Sygic is really good, used it in Spain with no data which was ace. Pretty sure you can cache areas in Google maps now too though, load it all on WiFi then head out.

I've found Google maps directions to be utter dog jobby, sent me on a wild goose chase whenever I've used it in the car.
