From the breakfast meeting to the super high reving engines and back again. Frikking classic topgear.

S-hit cars for people who dont care and dont know any better. I couldn't have put it better myself...

You take a chance buying from france... :P

Totally agree. It was spot on perfect entertainment. Shame they didn't show the 406 coupe though. That was sweet.

It was funny

There was a stage that almost every car I owned was a Peugeot but the last one I had was a 1997 306 D and it was pretty good. New ones though? :?

to be fair new cars (after 2002) are pretty shoddy full stop but they french really did look at the genepool and realise that 90% of people want sparkles and polished turds, short term lifestyle purchases rather than longterm investment buying. And they provided what was wanted  ticky tacky cars for ticky tacky people.

A generation of Xfucktor watching, kanye listening mouthbreathers, all telling each other that their new piece of jobby car is the best thing since Cheryl cole took it up the ringer.

I have had the discomfort to be in a couple of modern french cars recently and the sound they make when you close the door seriously makes you wonder if they were actually made in 1950's soviet russia at a gulag camp in the northern siberian wilderness.

imho

You gotta sell to the market and the market is uninformed and uninterested in well built automobiles.. Not when they can connect their ipod instantly and warm the back of their neck with the roof down :?

@cebul: yes, the same as I hope it is over there. I know we are 'roast beef' to the frogs and thats fine by me.

Its a hate hate love relationship. Like you always bitch and poke at your nextdoor neighbour but if a gang of yout's from another street came round looking for trouble you'd be back to back.. The french are enough like us but different enough to be our arch enemy and our best compatriot.

I 'hate' the french but love france  I have often advocated we all move across the tunnel into france and take it over. We can use the UK as longterm storage and take advantage of the nice weather they get over there. The french can pootle off to the eastern balkans for all I care. its not like they'll put up a fight...... :P

Reality is that french car producers produce cars in line with the french ideal of fraternity etc. Cheap cars for farmers and lowpaid workers to get about the place. Nothing wrong with that but dont go stepping upto the quality mark with a french car. A french cheese? yes. Wine? without question. Cars?       stick to what you're good at.

Like in England we make some of the best racist football supporters in the world. beaten only by serbia :?
And greedy bankers and heart disease. We are good at them as well

So yes, we rip the french a new one at ANY chance but its only a good natured rivalry from my point of view.
