I'm having a discussion with a friend of mine, he wants to go as fast as possible for £2k ..he is convinced a Clio 172 is the way forward..

I'm trying to convince him that a B, H or K series VTEC is better - he wants to know how high the miles can go before needing an engine rebuild on one of these VTEC Honda's.. so, what do you all know?

Highest mileage Prelude you know of is??

Highest mileage Honda you know of is??

Highest mileage car you know of is??

(No offence Wurly, but) if any more of my friends buy drokking French cars I'm going to become a hermit.

My old engine was on 176k when we swapped it out....for fun.
It was perfect, compression was good and even went into a 5th gen and as far as i know is still going.

This was a donor I had once upon a time...

Didn't look like it had been loved at all...

Even Wolverine had had a go...

And the brakes were shot as well, suggesting it hadn't really been maintained at all.

... But the engine was sweet as a nut!... Really smooth running (No tappety noises) and pulled really hard.

192 671.672 miles ;-)

Give it a couple of years and every single 172/182 will look like this:

I have driven my mates 182 and it is ok. Horrendous turning circle though

Not a Prelude but a nice looking car being sold by PAW. Just a touch over £2k
