Hey guys/girls
My cars going to be getting written off due to little fuckwits attacking it, back quarter damaged (kicked in) front wing and bonnet all dented and windscreen smashed. I know with it being the 2.0 the insurance are going to value it low but is there anyway I can argue this? Car has full leather, motegi kit, and unluckily for me I've just had 4 brand new tyres fitted (first 2 in December other 2 last month). Also remember the only bit rust on car was round the bootlock. Raging i an understatement but got to look at it the positive way and that is I'm ok and the cars just a bit of metal really.
Cheers

Little bastards.
Crap luck mate. You must be angry as hell.
Hope you get some sort of reasonable outcome.

I was in a crash and they didn't even ask how bad mine was or anything, I got the parts off mills and got the car sorted I just told the insurance I will sort my own car

That's gutting, sorry to hear that newkid. That's a right arsehole! Any idea who did it? Have you reported it to the police?
All you can do really is to find examples of good condition 2 litres with a similar (or lesser) spec for Sale at the moment for high prices and you use that to argue back saying that's the market value and that's what it would cost you to replace it.
You should also be able to buy it back off them for scrap value and you could either get it repaired yourself, or take the good bits from this one to put into a replacement (leather etc).
If you do want to hang on to/get the car back, don't let them take the car away to value it - it's extra aggro getting it back once they've got it as opposed to you having it already.

That's absolutely sickening! Second one today, and I was already angered by that!

^^^ This though ??? With my 3rd gen they would have giving me the option, only there was unrepairable damage to the rear shock tower, meaning they wouldn't allow it to be put back on the road.

Tbh, thinking about it... You could swap the bonnet and front wing yourself easily enough, then claim for the windscreen on the insurance (just paying windscreen excess and not affecting no claims - it was just a very big stone, after all...

) and then pay to have the rear wing damage repaired? (not likely to be something you can do yourself by the sounds of the damage)

I just don't understand why insurance is involved, if someone attack my car I'd phone police but I wouldn't tell insurance that's all I was getting at

Like some have said if they write it off buy it back and swap out the parts you want to the new vehicle or have repaired yourself. It will be deemed Cat D but with its value and prob the fact you dont want it scrapped in the first place im.sure that wont bother you!
Fight your end and dont agree till your happy!

The category of write off depends on the extent of the damage. No guarantee it will be a cat d.
I would guess insurers are involved because Newkid is making a vandalism claim under his policy
