Manuel conversion and MPG??

Post by chris1811 » Thu Jun 18, 2015 2:09 pm

HI guys - Have used the search bar and didn't find anything particularly helpful so......

What kind of MPG could I expect from a 1993 2.2L i 4WS Auto??

Trying to work out if its worth the swop over from my MR2.

Also someone mentioned that you can convert the AUTO into a manual. What kind of cost are we talking to do this?

Cheers in advance

i'd say 28-35 is the average mpg.

when I had my auto-manual conversion done, I paid around £750 for R-motion to do the work and use a donor Prelude they had spare. I bought my own gearbox for them as I had LSD in the auto, so I bought an LSD manual box before hand and handed over with the car to R-motion :)

The box was £300 but that was because it had LSD, so a standard manual box can be picked up from anything between £50 - £150 ;)

if you do the conversion work yourself, it would cost vastly less as there is no labour charge, then it depends if you want to pick up a donor car or find the parts separately.

*Manual *Liter. Vowels can be a bast-ard

60 liter tank gives average 340 miles with a little fun thrown in (and you will use it with a manual box)

Thats all you are going to get. A little more than with the auto for sure but you loose the gain in right foot down to the floor fun.
Do it though. Sports cars with chocolate boxes are no fun.
