Ok so I wanted to remove the tints on my Civic. They were on my front windows and I know they would have been illegal so didn't want the police trouble so wanted to get rid of them.. Today was a nice day so I thought I would remove it.

Peeled off the film which was easy but then there was glue left behind it. :?

Tried using white spirit but didn't work, then some nail polish remover that didn't work either.

Then got so frustrated and don;t know what happened to me, maybe the heat got to me.. :? :( :o I got the scouring pad from the kitchen and rubbed the whole window..

Glue did come off but there are so many scratch marks on the glass it self. :(

Now I have to have the window open as I can't see out the window. :x

I admit, I am stupid.. Come at me with your best jokes about this..

Plus you selling the perfect exhaust setup and not putting it on your car. Double fail.

I haven't dared try to take the bloody awful and drokked tints off the bb4 yet, for this exact reason (scared of trashing the heated rear window)

But!

Have no fear nitin, scrubbed glass can be saved (no, really).
If it's light scratches, you can polish them out. If it's heavier, the answer is...
Re-film them (with a clear film). It amazing how well that works*

*I should admit this is not based on personal experience on car windows, but plenty of experience on train windows - anti-graffiti film goes straight over dutch graffitied windows and sorts them a treat! :D so hopefully same will apply :?
