Getting over a beloved car...

Time for me to be a bit soppy unfortunately

today I made up some for sale signs to put in my Golf. I also wrote up an advert to place on Gumtree. And to be honest - I'm genuinely feeling sad about this

I'm hoping to buy another Honda as it's replacement, but right now all I can think of is actually how much I love my Golf and how I'm going to miss it... So I'm wondering how you folks have managed to let go of that special car when you've felt it time to get something different? Please help me stop being pathetic

Still got the key to my first car on my keyring.
Some peenarse decided to drive into me and write it off, still not over it
As for letting go of a car for another one... I couldn't wait to bore off my old 406 for the Lude

I got over getting rid of my beloved escort with a bottle of wine...
Now it all seems worth it as I learnt the way of the lude. At the time though, I was gutted to get rid of Stella, my sexy black escort!

I smashed my first nova into a wall, sliding off a roundabout in the rain ...

I still have my first car key too! My Audi A4 engine blew up and she had to go to the big scrap yard in the sky

I didn't know much about cars back then so didn't try to fix it. I kinda wish I had, but it was the Audi breaking that led to me buying a Honda

maybe you're onto something with the 406 thing though - if I only ever have unloveable cars I'll never miss them when they die or get sold

Haha maybe I need to get down the pub tomorrow, have a few drinks and think about how awesome having another Honda will be

could it be time for me to get a prelude?!

YES! GET A PRELUDE!
Though a 4g. Even if you think the 5g will look next to the accord!

drokking thing was a nightmare. I hated it even more because it was given to me (so it was free... can't grumble about that) by my dad's mate as a replacement for my written off car. Wasn't until I actually got in it that I realised why it was free. I spent enough money to buy your average lude just keeping it going for a year... I remember after it went for an MOT, and somehow passed, the alternator gave up on the A11 at rush hour as I was approaching a roundabout at 60-70mph. When I dropped it off at the scrappy it wouldn't start again when they went to move it, good timing for me I guess

I'm always on the lookout for them, but all that ever seem to be available locally are 2 litre auto's

if a decent 2.2 manual cropped up I'd be there like a shot

This is another thing that's bugging me, I've put so much work into the Golf as it was a total muffin for ages!! Now it actually runs ok and all of a sudden I'm deciding to sell it...
