ITB's
Hello folks,
Just a quick question, is anyone here running ITB's on their lude? If so what sort of power do you generate from them?
I know they cost quite a bit and they are b1tch to tune, but is it better save up for this set up rather than the tried and tested Accord Type R manifold, with an induction kit and an exhaust?
Do they have any distinct advantages or disadvantages? I know that higher compression pistons are required.
I don't fancy a forced induction set up, so I am just exploring N/A options.
Cheers
Ranj

@Merlin - Its an A8 mate.
Im curious, a high end build with higher compression stage 3 cams, a flowed head and an exhaust - what sort of power would that make?
My initial plan was to go down the exhaust, exahust manifold, intake, Accord R manifold, larger throttle body route until I saw an article on ITB's which made me curious lol.

Nice one mate - cheers... now to save up and source the parts.
My car is a bit high on the mileage - its near 180k now. So not sure if a rebuild is a good idea prior to modifying.

jeeeez i hope you meant a 68mm tb merlMerlin wrote:With an a8 (with its 11:1 comp pistons) I would go Skunk2 stage 2 pro cams, ATR IM, 78mm TB and be in the 250-260 range (maybe a tickle higher on a good engine). ITB's will be a pain the hoop as they require to be tweaked often to give optimal performance.

dont forget Free Ranj Egg you'll need a remapple ecu to tune all this in like a p28/p30/p72 ecu with a Hondata chip installed

Lol at Merlin.
Yes Drax I am aware a ECU will also be required.
I might need to sell a kidney to fund this so if anyone is interested I have a low mileage 1 owner kidney will full service history, no modifications, in original condition and it is a well cared for example.
I am open to sensible offers. I know its against forum rules but pictures are available on request.
