Sitting at work and thinking about anything that is not work related.... so it got me thinking

For bolt on mods (aem, exhaust and decat) will that need some sort of tuning (not talking engine management systems).

If so wheres the best place to get it done?

The factory tune will work fine with bolt ons like induction, headers, decats and exhausts. Those things are simply helping it breathe more efficiently and work in unison.

To an extent the ECU learns as well, so it will change the fuelling ever so slightly to compensate.

You could of course get a tune and get more out of the engine, but it would require a standalone or piggyback system.

Is it worth getting a standalone system just for bolt ons at this stage.

Next year I will be looking into the Accord r inlet mani and assumed a stand alone system is better then, but not now.

Yes, even a standard engine will benefit from a tune.

My ATR lump which is 212bhp as standard has a Type-S intake with K&N Panel Filter, full Mugen exhaust system with custom decat and S2000 injectors and that tuned on a standalone is making 242bhp ;)
