My friend's sister sadly lost her husband last year. Clearing the garage, she got ripped off when selling a 1950s Franny Barnet. She's finally got round to thinking about disposing of his small guitar collection and I don't want to see her lose out again, so am trying to give her a steer on prices.
I'm stumped by two of them.
This is a resonator that has been modified. The scratch plates look like hand-cut formica! I think there might be an Alden or an Ozark lurking under the heavy black coating:-
I can't guess at this one at all (possibly 1970s Japanese?):-
Any ideas?

the neck on the 2nd one is just like a stratocaster copy and pickups are strat style as well - like you say possibly japanese - tokai or squire etc - interesting anyway - if i lived closer i would pop round for a jam

I think I've got the second one now.
It's almost certainly a Teisco, as Shiny said on the Accord forum. I'm pretty sure it was made in the Gakki factory before the take-over in 1967. That's the body and hardware. The neck and head are probably 10 years younger. "Probably" because the modification has been done so well it seems original.
It plays well and fits my fingers ... but I can't justify buying another guitar ...
I've got most of them at home now and am cleaning them, testing and setting them up for sale. They'll all be in excellent condition and most are virtually unused.
If anyone's interested, I'll post some more pictures and put up an official for sale notice.
The main ones are:-
Shine strat copy
Fender Jaguar "Classic Player", 2012, made in Mexico
Ozark 3515 (chrome-plated & brass, resonator)
Recording King RM series (plated, tri-cone resonator)
Fender FR 50 (resonator)
Tanglewood TH502-CH (like a Gibson 335)
