wont really no how much work till i see if its a runner so now i am this far in i will be changing the water pump, all belts including power steering and alternator both tensioner bearings then its the moment of truth how will it run :)

all back together today moment of truth turned the key and soon as i heard the speed she was turning i new we had issues :facepalm: , sure enough after a compresion test no compression on any cylinder so houston we have a problem bent valves for sure :cry:

That's a shame mate. If you want to replace the complete engine, you can have my F22b (which I think is the same as the H23) for £150, it will come with the gearbox attached. The engine runs really good and compression is really good. The engine has got 70,000 miles on it.

that is tempting whats the difference between these engines , reckon its probably cost that to rebuild this one with valves gaskets and machine costs :(

I'm not too sure, I have googled it and some say its the same and same say it isn't. The F22B is a 2.2i and H23 is a 2.3i,. That's all the difference ones I can see.

think i am going to remove the head and see whats what from there , hondaddict has offered me a set of valves so thats going to make the job cheaper for sure

finally got the head off and every single valve is bent :cry: no damage to any pistons but the valves are mullered so let this be a lesson to you all dont forget to change your water pump when the cambelt is done
