wont really no how much work till i see if its a runner so now i am this far in i will be changing the water pump, all belts including power steering and alternator both tensioner bearings then its the moment of truth how will it run

all back together today moment of truth turned the key and soon as i heard the speed she was turning i new we had issues , sure enough after a compresion test no compression on any cylinder so houston we have a problem bent valves for sure

That's a shame mate. If you want to replace the complete engine, you can have my F22b (which I think is the same as the H23) for £150, it will come with the gearbox attached. The engine runs really good and compression is really good. I'm not too sure, I have googled it and some say its the same and same say it isn't. The F22B is a 2.2i and H23 is a 2.3i,.
