Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

So in theory if the belt snapped whilst out of vtec then the pistons and valves should not have collided and the damage not too bad...
This was exactly what i was thinking, its been said before but i wasn't sure whether to believe it.
I can confirm from first hand experience that the H22 is only interference once vtec is engaged :D

So, the engine could well be perfectly fine?

If it is then it'd be great if it where saved, imo :D

If the rest of the car is good, definitely save it and as others have said, stick a belt on and see how the engine runs.

If it has any damage but the ATTS is working fine, then I'd suggest repairing the engine and keeping it with ATTS (there are so few Type S's still with it).

Think I'm right in saying that an A7 pistons and head are direct replacement for the A8???? (to give more options for replacement parts)

went to see car as I was going to break it, turned out to be in bad shape was initially meant be £500 was offered it at £300 and walked away.

bodywork was v poor, front seats missing, steering wheel and gearknob scrap, grille badly painted suspension had cut springs in it  Front splitter ripped off.

Bar clocks and carbon trim I couldn't see a lot of value in it to myself to warrant the effort cars based in Northern Ireland

Does anyone know who has this car and if its being broken? I could do with the Active ABS ECU from it.
