Quite so.RattyMcClelland wrote:12k isn't too bad. Not sure why some quantify price with hp and a more of.
I spent nearly £55k on my work van. People thing it's stupid yet I'm in the thing 7 hours a day. Prelude is nearing £20k.
It's not £'s for more numbers and more car but £'s for value for money to you as a buyer.

Do you think it's as reliable as your Charged Prelude though?RattyMcClelland wrote:That's basically less awesome than my charged prelude.
If I had the money (and that's the budget we are working towards at the moment) I wouldn't even look at this car.
E92 M3 or a really well looked after E46 M3 for that money. DC5 is a nice enough car but it's little leagues.
6th gen Prelude please Mr Honda. RWD 2.4 turbo lude.

Mines been very reliable. Just certain components not working as they should. Crappy skunk2.lewd lude lover wrote:Do you think it's as reliable as your Charged Prelude though?RattyMcClelland wrote:That's basically less awesome than my charged prelude.

Would an e92 or e46 be as much fun as the dc5 on the open road.

I'm only joshing mate.
The E46 is easier to live with as a normal car apparently, the best M3 on balance apparently, the e92 is a bit of an animal. If I was going to spend that kind of money on a S/H car it would have to tick many more boxes than just fun to drive is my main point I suppose. An interior that is sumptuous and a step above for one thing and something with a little more panache. Also more than 4 cylinders. I miss straight and V6. Never owned a V8 but I'd like to. If I had the money ten years ago yeah, I'd probably consider the DC5 but not now, no matter how many ponies it has.

Having had an E36 328i with some work done and an LSD it was every bit as fast and fun to drive as the lude is.....but it had 213ft/lb with its 212bhp and you really felt it. I base my BMW reflection on this experience. I would have another one for sure.

rattymccleland - Does it put the power down well, or do you get frantic wheelspin?

Depends on the road/weather and temperature.Free Ranj Egg wrote:rattymccleland - Does it put the power down well, or do you get frantic wheelspin?
It's usually fine but does wheel spin when I want it to.
Wet weather. I go nowhere fast.
Unlike turbo cars I'm controlling boost with the throttle and it's instant and predictable so you can control wheel spin fairly easily.
