Price of R134a

Post by louckie » Thu Jul 19, 2018 11:52 am

Just phoned up this morning to get a new 12KG Bottle at work, previously laying around £60 mark

£380 !!!! Holy Santa clause jobby thats insane

Apparently the hike is to do with the fact there’s only two factory’s that do AC gas one of which has gone to the new 1234yf

So production has halved causing a shortage

So heads up kids

We've got it far worse I'm Spain with the heat  most motor factors have stopped selling r134a due to the massive amount of tax that has recently been put on it. The few retailers that are selling it now have it at around 600€ mark.
Luckily the Preludes ac blows out ice cold but quite a few customers have felt the sting this summer time.

That looks more like a quick fix or maintenance accessory to help the ac in general. For the average person in could be used, but in workshops you'll definitely need the big bottles of r134a for full re-gas jobs.
