I'd forgotten just how good....

With the Prelude away for so long, I think I drove the Green up North in February, I'd forgotten just how good a drive the Prelude is. And this is stock. So those with tuned machines will certainly smile!

I enjoy the HR-V, it's cute looks and comfort, high up ride, super light steering and clutch...

I'd forgotten the Lude - months spent between garage and bodyshop, awaiting parts from Japan...

The drive down to Beaulieu from Leeds, 250ish miles - observations...

A sublime motorway shark
I just love the way the Prelude moves between lanes, up to speed and ready.

Thrill of VTEC
Third gear is a favourite of mine, slip road - seeing the Lude approach a car pulls into the middle lane, (the polite thing to do), VTEC kicks in, car sheepishly pulls back into lane...you are history so to speak.. driver scratches head, "what was that?"...

B-Road Antics
There's no other car that dares you to find that point where grip ceases to be, and I'm always surprised just how much rope the Prelude gives you. Mind you, with fresh wheels I'm not sure I want to test under steer with a roundabout kirb!

Presence
A head turner. Full stop, end of :D

Just a few Prelude related ramblings

The Prelude never feels tired when sharing 3 lanes with various German saloons, or the apparent design uniformity of all other brands. Sorry, :old: rant over

I'm in a similar boat norks27, most of the time when I'm driving these days its a 2003 CRV, which to be fair, is great.
It's practical, comfortable, reliable and has all the fluff you want in a family car (A/C, cup holders blah blah).
The lude only does about 2k miles a year now, but from the second I get into it.... :vtec:
I feel like I'm sat on the floor, the steering is direct, the gearshift is like a bolt and the engine feels like an old Ferrari!

Preludes are a very rare breed, they are so much more than the sum of their parts and sometimes it takes a stroll on the grass the other side of the fence to show you.

It's all relative, this life stuff. 8-)

All of what you said Norks, plus it's a coupe, so big bonnet in front of you, loads of luxurious room for the front seat passengers, sod anyone who might be in the back. Effectively a two seater car that takes up as much room on the road as family car, I like the decadence of it really. You wouldn't get that in a hot hatch.

I also like the way it's nicely responsive at 3000 revs, starts to come alive and make a lovely noise between 4 and 5000, and then goes completely berserk if you keep going. And the grip and the grip and the grip. And the flat flat cornering.

Nicely put.
