Which video editting software to go for?

Post by rob quilter » Wed May 16, 2012 7:40 pm

We're soon planning on having a listmymotor.com YouTube channel, we're going to have short videos of new car tests, shows etc....

I was just wondering what editting software would you guys recommend? It has to be noob friendly, I've heard good things about Sony Vegas?

Personally I would go for the adobe suite - premiere and after effects, it has so much support and an excellent user base. If you are on a Mac then final cut is preffered by most.

I studied film and animation at uni and always love the integration between all the adobe apps. The basics are pretty much the same for any suite for basic editing so unless you go for something really beginner like windows movie maker ;) you won't find much difference ease wise for basic editing IMO. At least with adobe you will have HEAPS of beginner tutorials :)

Also depends on budget?... Pm me for more info if you like.

Best, William.

I've used premiere pro in the past, found it pretty easy to use for basic stuff, but you can go the extra mile. after effects is just amazing shame I don't have a HD video camera I'd love to play about with the effects in that

I use Cyberlink Power Director. It's easy to use for a novice like me.
Here's one I made a couple of years ago for fun......

There is always Windows Movie Maker? Its not the greatest but its easy to use, outputs in HD, and should be on your PC already :D For basic vids really. I use Premier Pro otherwise.

I thought I was the new Tarantino. :D

I actually made a brilliant one where I was lip-synching to Fergie (Black Eyed Peas).
It had over 12,000 hits on Youtube until they pulled it for copyright infringement. Then my hard drive died and I lost it forever.
