Hi,
Does anyone know how to change the battery/s in my bb4 keyfob, looked on Google and YouTube and found nothing that looks like my key. The batteries look weird

Any help appreciated

You can't. It was a self charge system.

Looks like someone has tried to solder that right hand cell - bad idea. Button cells tend to explode if you touch them with a soldering iron for anything more than a couple of seconds. You can see the one of the left was spot welded into place using a special battery pack builder tool, to weld the tabs to the cell (those 2 spot marks)

if it doesn't work at present, you might aswell carefully remove those cells, and see if you can identify if they are of the rechargeable type. I'm sure you get some equiv off ebay. Soldering them back in might be a challenge, but tbh a bit of wire and some tape is good enough - the battery pack welders are at least 200quid for a crap one...

Thats assuming no other damage. If you cant find any cells, you could just rig up any 3v source to test if it still works, as there may be other damage.

I didnt know they were self charging, inductive perhaps? I can see some component legs going into the black part. Are there some LEDs in there? LEDs can provider small amounts of power if daylight hits them.

It charges when in the ignition. Usually missing one of the legs.

can get u a pic of my remote which is i think in working condition except it missing one of the legs that newkid mentioned.
have an aftermarket alarm and remote so dont use my OEM IR remote

thought you might be able to order a new key from japan using the 4 digit number that is stamped into the key...probably mega expensive and no longer available
