The lude has gone

Post by Free Ranj Egg » Mon Jan 06, 2020 8:08 am

Hello everyone

I hope you guys all had a good xmas and a new year.

I say this with a heavy heart, but my lude has now been sold to @Lankysod07 for him to break the car. The crank was damaged and personal circumstances have stopped me from repairing the car as it would need a whole engine rebuild as its done nearly 200k miles.

I just want to take the time to thank everyone who has helped me out with parts and advice over the years.

I am hoping to be in a lude again sometime in the near future but as it stands at the moment, its not something I can afford to do as I will be relocating to London.

I have a brand new crank pulley which I brought from H Tune will I will put up for sale in the near future.

I wish you guys all the best and keep on luding.

Ranj

Sorry to hear that mate. When living in London, there is a good argument not to bother owning a car, tubes and buses will get you places much quicker and more cheaply than driving, that's for sure!

@a@ATR84 - yes there is that. It would cost me about 7k to restore the car the way I want it. Plus my Mrs has a nice new shiny beemer and we will make do with one car for the time being. The biggest issue with London is the bloody Ulez charge, where they will charge me £12.50 a day to use any petrol car which was made before 2005

For £7k you could get a fresh import which probably wouldn't need anything major doing. Maybe, if you do get back in the game at some point, consider that route. Having said that, any 20 year old car is going to need a certain level of maintenance.

Sorry to hear it bud - all good things come to an end and cars are no exception.

Good luck with the move to London!

It lives on in part - the bodykit has made its way to my car (well just the front lip, ran out of daylight).

I had actually completely missed this thread and seen that you'd had to sell your car.
Sorry to hear that dude.

Just to add, it's not true that ULEZ applies to any petrol car made before 2005... My 51 plate C5 diesel cops it for ULEZ, but my 53 plate C5 3.0 V6, doesn't!
