A slightly less troll / fighty one this time...

We all know that the Prelude is the greatest car ever made - but what is the best feature / innovation introduced on a Prelude?

You can vote for 3 options in this - because blatantly, most people will use one vote going straight for H22

Some of these features carried over to a further generation of course, but I've listed the gen it was first introduced on.

Off you go!

My single vote goes to electronic 4WS. Transforms the feel of the car and mine still works 29 years later!

I'm torn on the H22, it was not the first VTEC lump, and I think the FRM liners are a real Achilles heel. How many times have your read the phrase "yeah, it's normal to see a bit of smoke at full tilt on vtec" hmm. They appear to glaze slowly over time, resulting in a slow, gentle, untimely death...............

oooo excellent one 8)

ive chosen El Dials not specifically for them, but for the whole main 4g digital dash - a very unique futuristic looking character to the 4g i think  it's always the party piece i show to anyone unfamiliar with the car. plus i would LOVE to see a modern version that looks very simialr but completely touchscreen

4th Gen dash, pretty typical of the early 90s. Mazda Cosmo and a few Nissans feature similar layouts or colours and el tech.

Electronic 4ws just a retarded version of the superior mechanical 4WS which gets my vote. Both excellent.

I like this poll, good idea :)

If I had to choose one it would probably be the EL dials, I absolutely love them. I think I bought my first 4th gen in around 2005. I was mainly looking at Toyota Celica's but my mate said to me "What about the Prelude?" I hadn't really seen one before, we turned up at this dealer in London somewhere, it was a red BB1 with less than 50k miles on the clock. By this point we had been to see a couple of Celica's but they were a bit rough, the second I got in the Prelude I was hooked, that dash had me straight away. Then I experienced my first ever vtec pull, the rest is history. I put a deposit down on the car there and then.

Like Vtecmec said, I am not sure I can vote for the H22, I like the engine and the way it delivers it's power, I like the fact it has a bit of torque compared to other vtec engines, but they do like to smoke, not only through burning oil but also because they run so rich. Mine likes to leave carbon deposits over my shiny white bumper, very annoying. Having said that, I have had 5 different H22's and other than the odd oil leak I have never had an issue with reliability 8)

Spot on - that is the way I meant it tbh - the whole dash cluster/design really.
(funnily enough, had that exact dsicussion with @Vtecmec off-line after I posted the poll :D )

I can't go in and edit the poll otherwise it will wipe out all the already cast votes, but I will see if I can persuade @indigolemon to hardcode change the entry on the server to say something like "EL-Dials/Dash/Gauge Cluster" :)

If we're going down this line though, could say the same about 4ws - there are other cars out there that also have/had 4 wheel steering.

Other than the worthwhile ones you've listed, on a more esoteric level, I'd like to add that I admire the fact that it was designed to plough its own furrow, not necessarily to follow the then current market trends. In my opinion that creative/engineering philosophy created its timeless appeal.
