Lude Generation

I have been thinking about getting another fresh import to sit alongside my 5th gen Type S. 4th or 3rd gen considered. So I have been keeping an eye on cars going through auction in Japan.

Yesterday there were 2 clean looking 3rd gens that went through, I missed the boat but thought I would check what price they went for:

1st one sold for around £14,800. Looked ok, bad paint on the roof and a few issues like AC not working etc.
2nd one sold on negotiation, so do not know the exact price but it had a start price from £16,000. Looked super nice!

If you have a 3rd gen, keep hold of it! It must only be a matter of time before these prices have an affect on prices for ones already in the UK, or even UKDM cars.

It's getting to the point where I might just have to buy one already in the UK that needs restoring.

Before I got the S660 I was looking for the rare JDM 3rd gen XX. (4ws with the dual carb engine).
Saw a couple and they were £10k and likely another £4k ontop for shipping, tac, registration and fees.

Dam you American market.

Yeah I didn't realise 3rd gens were so expensive, when you look at ones for sale in the UK they are nowhere near that, although there is one on Autotrader now for £9k.

The ones that went through auction yesterday weren't the special editions. One was auto, one manual, both 2.0 4WS, both with cloth interior.

There is 2 ebay, silver one £5k and a pirates black one for £4k. Both auto though. I love the black one.
The full white one on auto trader i think is a little overpriced at the moment.

Only one colour for a 3rd gen. Red.

Would like an INX 3rd gen but all are autos. Unless the owner converted a manual with the accord front end..

I wouldn't be put off by an auto on a 3g, not sure why. I wouldn't have a 4th or 5th in auto though.....

I don't want something too similar to my Type S. So a 4th gen BB1 with all the toys and cruise control would suit. Or a 3rd gen auto that I can just jump in any time and waft about in. I just think the 3rd gens look so retro cool now

Days of cheap preludes from Japan are over.
