The story of the imported cars is genuine as well. I have P749, which is a white type S.
746 was , I believe a white SIR, and broken for parts a couple of years ago, 748 was a burgundy type S. Saw that a couple of times at Japfest at Castle Combe, not sure if still on the road. 747, haven’t come across as yet personally.
It’s down to preference. Manual or auto, or the ability to change to manual if preferred.

my 4g was an auto when i first bought it, i was happy with the box until i started doing track days - that's the only reason i changed to a manual.
i found an auto is brill and so much easier if you use the car as a daily, especially through traffic. the manual is only really required if you do track days or regularly kick the cars head in on drives out in the countryside in my opinion.

Hi Frank,
I recently bought a BB6 Sir with auto box and H22a engine. 2ws no sunroof or cruise control.
It looks practically identical to the one you are looking at and nearly the same money.
My BB6 is white and was imported a couple of years ago. No history from Japan but i know the guy who imported it and he did the water pump and timing belt and balance belt, and did the full Honda H23 manual tensioner conversion with new pulleys, also did the valve clearances. So history since import is good. I have fully undersealed it and only other thing i have had to do is a new steering rack gaiter.
Wish mine had the red interior.
As far as driving goes it is very smooth and quiet with good power and excellent as a daily drive around town. It still shifts when out on the open road but is nowhere near as quick and responsive as my BB1 or the BB4 that i had for 19 years as a daily drive.
Other good point is the headlights on the BB6 are far better so again good as a daily drive especially in the dark winter months.
All in all and excellent car and the import H22a black top with 197bhp is my engine of choice as it is the same as in the BB1 import.
Now I just use the 4th gen BB1 for weekends

Agree with Iain.
Not many of us would service our preludes in ASO.
My one seen ASO around 8yrs ago and only for air con service which I paid in total over £500 and it stil wasn't fixed. I don't trust them and not going to pay them again' which doesn't mean I won't buy parts from them
But if you ask about service then
Engine oil + filter done every 5k miles or every year whichever comes first,
Gearbox oil every 15k miles,
Coolant and brake fluid done every year,
Air filter cleaned every year.
It's simple enough, a pleasure to do and I have total control over all fluids in my car.
Funny enough my prelude isn't much in use as mainly we use accord now, most of them changes are like new oil for new oil.
BTW I stopped servicing accord in ASO since it turned 10 yo. It's simply too expensive for what they offering. £150 for oil change and simple inspection is not acceptible, especialy if they tell you on return that you should change filter element. Really? It cost 20 quit, someone already spent time to check it and they didn't change it, but obviously charged for this job. I'd rather pay that £20 extra and have it done.

@mercutio is one of our long term 5th gen auto owners.
He'd be really well placed to comment on the box, if he can

Some good info there, cheers guys. I suppose I’d better hurry and sell my spec b legacy before I look at this one. Anyone interested in a 3.0 245bhp awd practical family estate car?

I got my mate one of the legacy's (B spec import) and he loves it - he has got family and is a plumber so it ticks all the boxes. He says its a bit thirsty tho

My 5th gen Auto Sir is fine its used daily had it for many many years now. has a fully built ported and polished head with Skunk 2 cams and valvetrain.
I service it myself the Engine is over 200k still strong.
the problem with the auto boxes is people who think they are Ayrton Senna with the tip tronic, you really are best just leaving it in normal Auto espcially if you have a little something more in the engine. You will never hit the shift point like the computer will so they end up getting over revved and the clutches give way.
Once you have done that the box is useless the bits go round the box and it just destroys it.
