Sky Insurance - Kindertons??

Post by nellers2001 » Sun Jun 24, 2012 11:20 am

Hey all don't know whether you can help (maybe Shiny?)?

Got my insurance renewal through from Sky and it's a very good price but it says on the front page:

"This premium also includes £22.00 for Accident Management Services, including legal expenses cover, our arrangement fee and IPT".

On the next page under insurance details it says:

"...and includes an Accident Management Service, supplies by Kindertons Accident Management."

Now my question is, do I need to pay extra for an accident management service considering I thought this was the job of the insurance company themselves, ie for me Chaucer?

Is it worth keeping this service if it makes things easier, more speedy etc in the event of a claim?

Any help would be appreciated!!

legal cover is standard on most policies, things like personal injury  legal disputes, get your excess back etc...

goverment are stopping refferal fees, so dont really understand how these legal companies will still be around in the future

Referral fees at what the insurers/brokers get paid for putting a claim their way. They still be around, just the insurer/broker wont get a kick back from it.

Personally I'd take out the legal cover, as mentioned, in the event of a NON FAULT claim, they will attempt to claim your uninsured losses with (usually) £50k of legal fees cover if it needs to go to court. Uninsured losses are your excess, loss of earnings, travel costs such as taxis, replacement car hire, personal injury etc.

Clair at Kindertons was a total Diamond when I was wrangling for my red ones payout.

Without her I would have got maybe 2 grand less so I would say YES the £20 odd quid is worth it....

I'm with sky and I have used kindertons when the Iceland van drove into my Volvo. They felt with my case ok, had to chase them up a bit. Not as good service as Directline though.
Even though my car wasn't strictly road worthy they refused to supply me with a hire car and told me to go and get a temp repair done.

Just my 2p :)
