4th gen 2.3 vs 2.2

Post by nickyboy » Tue Jul 03, 2012 4:14 pm

A local bloke is selling a 93 2.3 car, but i'm guessing the 2.2 is a much better engine?

It's a UK car, and i'm going to see a JDM BB1 this weekend, with no chance of seeing the 2.3 until next week. My heart is saying 2.2 ftw?

People will tell you that its still a great drive, and it is, but in your heart you will probably always wish you'd bought the VTEC. Especially since the difference in cost is so small (comparatively) these days.

I wouldnt even bother contemplating the 2.3. The spares for the 2.2 are far more common. As said you'd see (or hear) the 2.2 and wish you had bought one in the first place ;)

VTEC is where its at ;).

I've had two H23 ludes, and both times I've swapped an H22 in. Says it all really ...

I never really understood why Honda bothered with a 2.3

Me neither. Same or worse MPG, less power, maybe a tiny bit more torque down low. Meh.
