MOT PASSED!!

Its always nice to get a straight pass on a 20yr old car. My JDM BB1 just sailed through. Only questionable items were my "blue" sidelights which are deffo not blue - just led white, and my emission test.

I "qualify" for non-cat tests because the car is a "J" plate (pre-Aug 92) but, for some reason the MOT computer is bringing up "1st date of use" as December 92 which means "technically" it should have been a cat-test.

J Plate cars <Aug 92 - NON CAT TEST
K Plate cars >Aug 92 - CAT TEST

I don't think being an import affects the above does it?

It wasn't a problem, this time, (or last time) but I wonder how I can get this "date of 1st use" changed on the computer system. The V5C does not carry this data. It states "DECLARED FIRST/MAN 1992" on the front and date of 1st reg as 05/2000, so neither of these correspond to the December 1992 date.

? :?

I thought the cut off date was 1994 for imports. AFAIK UK cars after '92 require cat, imports up to 1995 only have to be below 3.5co.

Contrats on the otherwise smooth MOT pass anyway though ;)

Only the BB4 as it wasn't available in the UK, therefore it's not listed on the computer. ;)
