Lude Generation

After receiving a japspeed rear strut brace yesterday that I can only describe as an appallingly poor piece of engineering- I immediately condemned it to my my list of 'waste of money' mods- those I've tried but wished I hadn't really bothered

Il give a few examples

1. VW bonnet gas struts that bent the bonnet/cracked the paint

2. ITR Spoon drop in filter- £100 to lose a load of midrange torque & gain SFA!!!

3. VW uprated headlight relay kit- lasted about 3 weeks before the headlights developed a mind of their own...

4. ITR blueflame exhaust. Sounded like a chav-wagon & went no faster!

I could go on!!!

Do any of you also have any horror stories? Seems to me there is an awful lot of rubbish out there to trip up the unwary

Not sure about mistakes as such but I have a lot of stuff I can't afford to have painted

Erm sheared a bolt off when fitting a strut brace to a r5

Painted my old civic coupe interior white. Oh dear....

common mistake

another is chrome rims, they corroded in under a year
