Type S MPG??

Was wondering what sort of MPG you get from a Type S? realistic answers please lol.

I used to drive a BB5 2.2 non vtec - auto. That used to only return around 20MPG  - driving... hard-ish. Yet that was only around 160bhp. Would a Type S (obviously manual) be similar? Or maybe worse???

Anyone who has or had one of these cars would be perfect to answer this! :D

Depends on how you drive. :D

If I drive like a hooligan with lots of VTEC then I do get ~20mpg. but if I drive sensible (no VTEC) and just to get to from A to B in town driving then I would get 26-29mpg. On the long motorway journeys s much better though, I get +350 a tank.

This is all on a Type-S, but I've had a UKDM H22A5 and JDM SiR, all are the same. :ugeek:

Ooo, good answer! Cheers mate! :D That's good news, I'm a bit of a coaster too, anytime there's a hill, light, traffic... Im'a coast 8-) so with your answer, I'm thinking I could get close to the 30 mark through town

Cheers buddy!

Oh... 350+ on a tank motorway driving... At what speed roughly? Inbox if it's silly lol.

I don't have a type s, but similar power, on a motorway run with a mix of 60-65 cruising & the ocassional blast (past trucks of numpties that sit in the middle lane or on my bumper) I get 350+ on a motoray run

Don't buy a Lude if you want good MPG. I get roughly the same as Nitin, UK H22A8.

I'll agree with these gents. H22A5 and similar MPG figures.
If I don't go much above 3500RPM, it boring as hell, but equally I do see a better return in MPG.

On my daily 13 mile commute I see ~27mpg but its a mix of motorway and town driving as an average. I learnt to stop caring after a year or so and just enjoy the car instead :)

I get around 33mpg ans that's a lot of VTEC and 90+ on Germany motorways. It's very economical as its high compression ratio.
