I mentioned that I was owed a camera and printer. Well they arrived. The camera is a sony cybershot 14 mega pixle thingy and that works ok. The printer is a Brother inkjet 197c. I installed that using the instructions and as I only had A4 paper at the time I could take pics and upload them to my computer and print them out all good so far, happy bunny. The trouble was it was wasteful on paper. So I asked my neighbour to show me how to crop photos so I could just print the bit I wanted

The upshot of all this is it no longer prints anything except 1/3 of the page as rubbish (pixelated) and I can't get back to where I was before. so I can't print pics and the preview screen is blank. My neighbour has spent 3hours on this now and retired for the night and will return in the morning. I can upload from my camera to the computer(Vista) but that is all. I dont have a sd card yet so I can't stick it in the slot of the printer to see if that would work.
Any help or advice would be gratefully received.

Vista (like most versions of windows) has a photo printing wizard. It lets you brows to selet your photos, and then choose a size and away it goes. Can print full size or let it get as many as you want it to on a page.
Go into the help and search 'photo printing wizard'.

Glad to hear it's sorted. Definitely sounded like one of those things you really don't want to try and diagnose over the internet, hence the lack of replies

Thats OK all ended happilly once every default had been restored. It was a mess though apparantly.
If I had been 7 instead of 67 I would have fixed it in a flash!
