Trying to get baby corn snakes to eat. any pointers?

Post by lewd lude lover » Mon Oct 29, 2012 4:16 pm

Hey guys,

so we have bred a few corn's. we got 7 babies out of 10 eggs and two are great feeders. one of them has eaten about 5-6 now :o

the other 5 are proving problematic to say the least.

so far we have tried:

Braining the pinkines
water warming them
slow defrost
hairdrier warming them
no human touch whatsoever
dark rooming the baby with a pinky
leaving pinky on card in viv
waving pinky about the place

all of them have had their first shed and are about 3-4 weeks old.

they are just not interested yet. Any other ideas/advice to get baby corn's to eat?

have you checked the temp humidity ?

when you brained the pinkies did you put the brains near the snake?

the temp is pretty stable at 23-25c

so far what i do is stab the tweezers into the skull and get some brain over the head and face of the pink.

I have just popped on inside one of the huts with a babyu so we shall see.

at least the good feeders are hoovering up all the ones not eaten. lol

As I mentioned in the other thread where this came up, try halving the pinkies so they seem a easier size for them/waft a bit more smell out. If not try aggravate them with the food until they strike. Sounds a bit dickish but it works trying to get fussy nocturnal boas to eat during the day ;)

Bit of Barry white always gets the mood going. Pop it on and let the vibratings moove them.

Trying to get baby corn snakes to eat.

Ah, the English language.
I read the title and wondered why anyone would want to eat corn snakes.
