Banter goes here, and doesn't have to be Lude related

Should I send this email to the guilty driver?

Post by CARRisma » Mon Dec 03, 2012 5:46 pm

Last November a drokking wanker drove into my Lude damaging the rear off-side wheel arch panel and rear bumper. He admitted liability at the scene and offered to pay for the repairs without getting the insurance companies involved. After presenting him with two quotes, he changed his mind and said that he never admitted liability and that I was at fault, even though I had an independent witness on my side. The independent witness even said that the other driver was driving like a prick before and after the incident! A prolonged insurance claim ensued which was eventually escalated to Solicitors to issue legal proceedings. After 11 months I was victorious. I've received the payment for the insurance excess I paid out and interest. I will shortly be receiving another cheque covering uninsured losses (expenses). TBH, I wasn't too fussed about the money aspect, I was more interested in clearing my name and him being identified as the guilty party.

I'm insured with Chaucer Insurance through Sky. I would like to warn people that Chaucer are absolutely crap and when my renewal is due, I will be looking elsewhere. When it's been finalised, I'll post a review of my experience with Chaucer for everyone to read.

My question is to people here, should I email the guilty driver? It will be something short and sweet, nothing overtly insulting. Something like:
Dear Mr ???????

Take heed: mirror, signal, manoeuvre. Your driving, those around and your insurance company will benefit. Please see rule 133 of the Highway Code:- https://www.gov.uk/general-rules-all-dr ... 133-to-143

Merry Christmas.

Adam Carr.
If I do send it, it will be on Christmas Eve and after I've received proper confirmation of the settlement. So, should I send it or just leave it?

You've had enough grief from his actions...

Leave it, nothing to be gained but an annoying rebuttal.

Yeah, just leave it. It's not going to accomplish anything and you won't change him into a better person with an email.
