I know someone who adjusted his rear washers to do just that. Trouble was, it tended to make the tailgating driver behave even more badly. Not many people actually backed off!

I'd fill that up with my body lemonade

As for tailgaters, I just randomly brake to keep them on their toes. Turning your fog light on will body lemonade them off something rotten too. If they're an extra special kind of kebab, I use the handbrake instead so my brake lights don't come on  It's not like I drive slowly, why get up my arse? I'm so going to get punched one day :?

My cavalier was the best car for tailgaters.
I used to drop the clutch and rev the tits off it, they had to back off due to the amount of smoke it would produce

 Normally I'm quite calm and just make it really easy for them to overtake, then follow them at an uneasy distance. Not too close, not too far, obvious enough for them to realise I'm taking the same turns as them. Or I just ignore them and slow down another 5mph. The road where I live is in a 20mph zone, has bus stops everywhere and uni students all over the place, as well as loads of young kids from a nearby school, always get tailgated through there whether I do 10, 20 or 30. Some people are just impatient!

I dont have a problem with tailgaiters as if someone is behind me I let them past. Usually if someone is behind me in a position to go past, they are gunning it, I dont stand in their way. I wish drivers of mundane cars thought like that as well :(
