Thought I'd start this thread for those of us who dabble in the R/C world to discuss our hobby.

I got my first nitro buggy about 6 years ago, an Acme Condor Pro

I soon upgraded to an HPI MT2 which I still have today.

I haven't used it in a long while, it's been boxed up since we moved an has been in the shed from 2009 until early last year. I knew the diffs were on their way out so I got the truck out to give it a run and see what parts I needed to fix it up. During this 5 minute run I completely stripped both diffs and the spur gear! It then went back in the box with a plan to order the parts, but this never happened! It went back in the shed, until today!!

I got it back out the shed, setup a table in the spare room and stripped the whole car down.

So that's how I ended up this evening. As you can see the whole car was caked in mud and grass from years of use! All required parts will be ordered, then every part cleaned before being reassembled.

Current shopping list is:

Front and rear diff bevel gears
52T spur gear
Rear hex nut
Replacement wheel(s)
New shell

This hobby is almost as expensive as the Prelude, but still love it!!

I had the Tyco python RC car with snake on it. The snake pops up and squirts water. Loved it.

I'm an electric man when it comes to RC mostly because of noise and price to run factors.
Have an HPI E-FireStorm 10T and a Tamiya TT-01 for drifting :)

I had one of them, I used to mix ketchup with a bit of water and fill it up.. then go squirt my neighbours with it.

I was quite heavily into building rc cars before my lude and house came along, I still have a few tho.

This tamiya clod buster with tubular racing chassi, so many upgrades its now bomb proof

That's sat next to a kyosho tf-4 that I've now sold, very rare car and had every hopup possible, an epic 90's racer.
Image

Old school tamiya ta03, one of my first chassis, this was made as spares into a drifter, I couldn't get the hang of it so sold it for very good money on eBay, she'll was a honda odyssey and extra wide Porsche split rims
Image

I built another drifter, tamiya turf 415 Marc rine chassis. Proper racing stuff.

Before it was a drifter I fitted 1/8th scale brushless motor and 14.4 lipo motor with very tall gearing, needed a runway to use it, at a guess 80mph wasn't far off and to dangerous in carparks.
It's now sold and can't find any pictures :-(

Another top speed drag car I built, a ta03 twin motor special. I never had enough batteries to max it out and the gearboxes were a huge restriction due to the 90's design but still fun.

It first ran x2 esc's and 4 battery packs but I down graded it to sell on eBay :-(

Another tamiya clod buster I spent years building, took a basic chassi and extended it, fitted jps dual gearboxes front and back, x4 motor reducers 1-64 I think and then 4 65turn lathe motors for awesome pulling power, it topped out at walking speed but pulled my old cavi easily and cud still add more batteries to gain power and traction. But I split it all to buy things for the house :-(

My latest is a 1/8 scale hobeo hyper 8 with alot of pro parts and roto start making it the ultimate speed hacker/ jump machine anywhere and starts every time. Just wish I had some pics.

There have been more projects in between but those are IMO the best but I want more...
