What extra toys does it have? Because im more a fan of non-electrical powered stuff as well... My 5th gen motegi has been de-ac'd (by previous owner) which is one big thumbs up. Who needs A/C while your windows still go down!

I like having A/C personally, does a cracking job at clearing a fogged up windscreen.
Type S has high comp pistons with a ported & polished head, bigger zorst, lower stock suspension, ATTS (active torque transfer system) which is an electronic variation on an LSD. It was a light weight 5g being no sunroof, no cruise control and was 2ws not 4ws.
Also had nice seats, carbon effect trim and came with some JDM goodness on some models such as inbuilt sat nav.
ATTS is a hinderance for tuning as there isn't an aftermarket ECU which supports it so you can only use a piggyback system.

Im not gonna bother after what you have just said alex =p I'd rather have a tunable engine with a spoon ecu or some sort like that, then have to piggy back etc. I will stick with the 5th gen motegi i have

Fair enuf. If you look at the non tuning option it's the best 5g, but if you wana change things it gets difficult.
BTW, the spoon chip doesn't work for the 5g, it's setup for different injectors in the 4g. Hondata s300's your best bet. If you have a 99-00 lude a tune with one of those at the right garage will get you past type s power without much trouble.

Type S FTW mate

I haven't had 1 yet but I will 1 day.
They ain't all white though, you can get them in various colours, and you can also pick up other white ludes, not just the type S
ATTS isnt just a fancy LSD either, its a very clever system that transfers power to the relevant side while cornering, allowing you to go round corners faster than you could in any other lude

Where as an LSD box is there to reduce wheel spin.

Oh, and as far as I know, ATTS runs off a seperate control unit

Which, IIRC, operates off information sent to it from the ECU

Well its easy to disregard the Type S is you havnt driven one. ATTS isn't like LSD. You can get a rediculous amount of yaw in a corner and accelerate out faster just like the Mitsubishi ayc system. Same designer.
After experiencing helical LSD and atts I know which is choose.
As for tunning its the same bar a piggyback ecu like the e manage ultimate. Same powers can be achieved until you go high powered turbos etc when atts can slip.

I love my Type-S.
Don't buy one if you are not a fan of atts, simples!
