Feckin Run flats/Bored in Recovery Truck

Hi guys,

I'm currently bored sat in the back of a recovery truck and will be for another 2 hours thanks to the GFs Mini.

Basically it got a puncture (nice and simple) but since it's on run flats there's no spare. But run flats let you drive on a flat I here you say.....well it would if the sidewall hadn't failed.

So recovery truck comes to take us back to the cabin we're staying at in York but it can't get down the road thanks to trees (cabin in the middle of a Forrest) so the only other option is to hear back to Newcastle drop off the Mini and grab the Prelude to get back to York because we need to pack and be out by 10am tomorrow.

The funny thing is the reason we took the mini rather than the lude was because "the Mini is newer so will be a more reliable car to have in the middle of nowhere".

more reliable than a honda i'd rather drive a 20 yr old honda rgan a new mini . i am using a mini back and forth to work (got to run it as it might be using water ? ) it is horrible

That was the girlfriends thinking. I would have preferred the better seats and ride of the lude.

The Bini is a nice car if I'm honest but it'll never be a Mini in my eyes

This reminds me of a funny story, well I thought it was anyway

When I bought this lude, my mate gave me a lift up to Birmingham to get it. He was taking the body lemonade as a I was buying a lude for £700 (FHSH too) about it probably breaking down on the way home.

So he dropped me off, I picked up the lude and unsurprisingly drove home without any issues.

Meanwhile, he was on his way up to some where north, I forget where , in his reliable ford focus. Coolant hose splits and pisses out all his coolant. Waits 2 hours on the motorway to get picked up and has the option of being towed home (wasted 5 hour drive) or get towed an hour to his mates place.

So, he goes for the option at his mates place and has to drive home the next day stopping every 20 minutes to let the car cool down for 10 minutes and put more coolant back in!
