Do I?

I'm getting paid twice this month as I changed jobs and am owed a months commission, and have been considering what to do with the spare cash. Sensible thing to do would be to repair the damage the dog has done to the house, or fix the Prelude, or pay off the overdraft... But I spotted this on the bay and I'm tempted to fire off a cheeky offer if it doesn't sell :D

My poor Mk2 is sitting out front and needs some love, I'm thinking a VR6 swap would probably get me back in the VW mood. As lumps by themselves usually fetch a couple of hundred on ebay, and considering you need a lot from the mk3 to do the swap, I think a donor is definitely the way forward.

That's unless you guys can think of something better to do with the £500-1000 of my pay I can justify spending on something for me and not my girlfriend  I was thinking of getting an MX5 for her (seen a nice import one nearby for £700) but I'm not sure I fancy the running costs of a 6th car or whatever stupid amount it is now :? unless anyone has seen anything cool that I might like!!

So I'm realy not sure what to do come pay day on Friday. Ideas and thoughts please chaps! :D

i wouldnt pay off the overdraft. You wont be paying much interest if your within your agreed limits. If you have some finance personally id pay some of it off coz in the long run you would be better off. You have loads of toys so you dont need another. Make your place better if you dont want to pay off a debt. Or put it to one side and go on holiday.

If stuff needs fixing and you want it fixed, or money is owed etc there's you answer ;-) It's a free fix or two, spend it wisely :geek:

The overdraft is 0% interest as it's my girlfriend's from when she was a student - we paid a lump off the other month so I'm reluctant to spend more on it. We have no loans or credit cards so we don't pay interest on any money we owe fortunately :) I definitely won't go on holiday with the money, I know most people love holidays but I just can't bring myself to pay for them, I prefer to buy physical things  the Prelude should be cheap to repair so I may just do that anyway and then figure out what to do after that. One consideration was chopping the Xsara in for an Aerodeck like yours Nath, but would the boot be big enough for my Labrador? Are they good on fuel too, as my girlfriend has to do 70 miles a day in the week :(

The boot is big enough for a dog providing it doesn't want to bound around. It'd probably love the parnoramic views as well and it'll even have their own sunroof ;-) My fuel economy isn't great, but mine's an Auto. I don't drive it like a pleb and I probably get mid 20's.

Pay of your debt, or fix your house. Be smart.

Be smart with it mate... I've had almost 3k in tax rebates in the last 2 years... fair enough I bought my Lude with 1/3rd of that... But I really wish I'd used the rest to pay off why I owe instead of whittling it away.
