I thought that too. I reckon it must be pretty broad..... might even be they just split the car into a few major categories eg. body, chassis, brakes, engine? Just guessing, mind.
(And OK, I've nothing against Toyota owners! 
Matter of fact the odd Mk1 MR2 or Supra has appealed now and then...)

Made me chuckle seeing the picture of the vehicle they put up to represent Honda. A CR-V.
We recently bought a CR-V that looks just like the one in the picture, although I was stood looking at it, from a grass verge - BROKEN DOWN, on the side of the dual carriageway, couple of months after buying it.
Honda carried out tests and couldn't identify why it went into limp mode but suggested we were putting cr4p diesel into it !! We only ever use SHELL.
Ah well, its been fine since, and here i am about to lessen my chances of breaking down yet further, by switching from a Toyota (my runaround) to a Honda Prelude.

Faceless, check your fuel filter
Honda diesel engines are notorious for not running properly if pattern parts are used - genuine Honda is the only way to go. Another major factor is service history, especially on the I-CTDi lumps. Ones that haven't been looked after as they should are prone to problems

Cheers jjmartin349571, will take a look at that Filter.
The CR-V is fully stamped, with full Honda main dealer service history etc. So shouldn't be any causes for concern there.
Has been 100% reliable apart from the one breakdown - I will say something though - before it "went" so to speak, I did note a gradual louder "WHOOOOSHING" sound coming from the engine while accelerating, then when lifting off the throttle you'd hear a bit of a fluttering/sucking sound.
Almost an audible indication something wasnt quite right. After getting it back, these noises pretty much disappeared.

I've had lip service from Honda dealers. What they meant to say was jobby really sorry we messed it up a little bit last time but we've sorted it out now and haven't charged you for it. But what they actually said was we've been over it several times and just can't find a problem! But rest assured it's been fine the whole time we've tested it so the problem has probably just sorted it self out. Now how about a nice cup of tea.
