Lude Generation

Hi hi!

So, me and a few friends found out about some big car meet in london, so i got the lude done and insured to go!

We was, 5 minutes from where it was... and a woman decides she wants MY lane and well, caved in my passenger wing for me. Done a lovely job. Then when she gets out she says "You hit me" Instead of argueing, i took her details, she took mine and off we went. Lucky for me, my friend and his partner were following me directly behind me so witnessed the whole thing.

still... the door / wing are fecked. Lovely.

This is my biggest dread these days. On a daily basis I see TERRIBLE driving, OK we all have the odd moment where we may not be totally textbook, but come on, looking where you are going and signalling FFS?, how much does it cost to signal?!!

Well the thing is, the car has been a cat C write off before for the passenger side Its not looking so good. The passenger door wont open either. When she blamed me i just couldnt be assed. I was in london, masssively busy roundabout and wanted to go home.

Would you keep it (buy it back) and get a wing and door for it? Or look at getting another?

Well i would want parts off it, aka the full exhaust system and some other bits. The engine its self is only on 76k! So im unsure.

Seems a shame to scrap it then. Provided the insurance will let you, getting a wing and door in the same colour could be an option (As long as that'll solve the issues of course)
Trouble is, it sounds like it might be a '50-50' as far as the insurance are concerned, where you are both blaming the other party especially annoying when you know the other party is lying.

Well i have 2 witness's. no one else stopped or cared.

if at all possible dont let her know you knew the witnesses. they will be considered bias and inadmisable i would think.

You might just end up knock for knock and have to get the parts.

hateful cow. this is also my fear. also why i am getting a car camera. cant argue with that.

Seconding LLL's thoughts, in car cameras are unfortunately looking like the way to go.

Plenty of Russian drivers now have cameras to protect themselves from the silly amount of accident fraud that goes on there, 2 mins YouTube and you'll see the things people try Saw one guy deliberately walk out into traffic, luckily the car stopped but the guy just dropped in the road as if he'd been hit. Driver got out and was pretty built, gave him a slap for the inconvenience and dragged him to the side if the road.
