Broken down

Post by W1ggz » Sun Feb 10, 2013 11:12 am

My cars just broken down driving along and the battery light and cat light came on on the dash then I lost the stereo and speedo but engine was still running parked in BCFC car park and cut out. I'm guessing its the alternator but why is the cat light lit up as well. Now awaiting the AA as the cars dead. Luckily we were coming to a wedding fare the mrs has gone in and I'm sat here on the phone

Wonder if the ignition switch has broken down if it's not a flat battery

Well I just tried starting again and it started but as soon as the doors auto locked it cut out battery dead again now. Could it be a dodgy connection somewhere

The connection on the alternator looks a bit suspect
